Senior Product Manager (73546)

SouthEast Bank is a financial institution offering private student loan products through its ELFI business. The Senior Product Manager will manage product strategy, customer discovery, roadmap development, prioritization, and performance measurement while coordinating with technology, business, compliance, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and own the customer discovery process, engaging directly with customers to understand problems, unmet needs, and opportunities in student lending
• Advocate for a culture where customer evidence informs product decisions before development begins
• Validate product ideas before significant investment, translating customer insights into product opportunities and roadmap recommendations
• Own the product strategy for the ELFI business, ensuring investments align with company objectives and customer needs
• Develop and maintain the product roadmap, translating business strategy into actionable product initiatives
• Prioritize product investments using customer evidence, business value, technical feasibility, organizational capacity, budgetary information, and other guidance as needed
• Evaluate new product opportunities and recommend where the organization should invest
• Define product success metrics and use product analytics to evaluate performance and to inform future investment decisions
• Represent ELFI on platform development efforts to ensure consistent customer experience
• Collaborate with Management, Legal, and Compliance on audits, reviews, issue remediation, and regulatory responses. Provide reports and information as required
• Partner closely with the Bank's development team and external technology consultants to translate product priorities into clear requirements, prioritization, and delivery
• Build alignment across Digital Solutions, Data & Analytics, Marketing, Operations, and business leadership
• Clearly communicate product strategy, roadmap priorities, tradeoffs, and progress to Bank executive leadership
• Serve as the liaison between customers, the business, and Digital Solutions to ensure teams are solving the highest-value problems
• Review the Bank’s information security guidelines regularly and avoid activity that could expose the Bank to malware, scams, and fraud. Follow all guidelines for securing your accounts, access, systems, and information. Be proactive in identifying threats to information security and relay concerns to the Bank’s information security team
• Diligently protect confidential information and assist the Bank in ensuring that all confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately
• Maintain an active awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, designated authorities, regulations, and laws, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Red Flags, Consumer Privacy, Fair Lending, other applicable lending laws for student lending and ensure compliance at all times
• Communicate openly with supervisors and other management about policies, procedures, work conduct, and job functions. Seek clarification of any compliance matter with the Bank’s Compliance and Legal departments
• Participate in training sessions and policy updates as necessary. Assist with coordination of scheduling as appropriate
• Maintain focus and professionalism at work. Be teachable, flexible, manageable, approachable, and helpful
• Work scheduled and other needed hours at the designated location(s)
• Assist Management with scheduling and other issues as directed
• Accept additional work as needed and assist other managers or Team Members as needed

• Management or Bank policy may revise, delete, or add responsibility as necessary

Requirements:

• Required: 5+ years of Product Management experience leading customer-facing digital products
• Ability to operate office equipment, telephones, and computers
• Ability to communicate fluently in English, in person, in writing, and on the computer
• Ability to hear, speak, and understand verbal communication
• Ability to read, write, count, and perform basic math functions
• Ability to move head, shoulders, neck, and arms freely (e.g. operation of office equipment)
• Ability to use manual dexterity and fine manipulation for operating a keyboard, using equipment, filing, etc
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds, grasp, reach, and pull
• Ability to think, remember, learn new information, and apply cognitive data to job functions
• Ability to assess and concentrate on mental and physical job tasks to see them to completion
• Ability to work with others to share information and solve problems
• Preferred: Experience in financial services, lending, or other highly regulated industries
• Preferred: Experience launching new products or improving existing customer experiences
• Preferred: Experience with financial technology online lending and loan origination systems and platform development
• Preferred: Familiarity with product analytics, and modern product development practices and the tools needed to do these effectively
• Preferred: Master's degree
• Demonstrated experience owning product strategy, roadmap development, and prioritization
• Strong customer discovery skills, with experience obtaining customer insights and translating those into product decisions
• Excellent analytical skills through a Data-driven mindset and adept at using analytics to guide decision-making
• Experience partnering closely with technology teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence leaders across multiple functions
