Electrical Design Engineer (Data Center)

NR Consulting is a workforce solutions and technology services provider. The company is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support electrical design and engineering projects, including calculations, equipment selection, drawings, technical documentation, and power system studies. The role involves coordinating with engineering teams and customers, managing assigned tasks independently, and traveling to project sites as required.

Responsibilities:

• Travel to project sites as required to support project execution and engineering activities
• Perform standard electrical calculations and engineering evaluations
• Assist with electrical equipment selection and application
• Apply applicable electrical and building codes and industry standards
• Develop and maintain electrical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Prepare and review technical documentation and engineering deliverables
• Support short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies
• Communicate effectively with engineering teams, customers, and other stakeholders
• Manage assigned tasks independently while meeting project schedules and deadlines
• Work collaboratively under the direction of senior engineering personnel
• Maintain accuracy and completeness of engineering work
• Use sound engineering judgment when evaluating technical information and developing solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 5–7+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and applicable codes
• Experience with electrical calculations and power system studies
• Strong written, verbal, mathematical, and technical communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
• Experience with data center or mission-critical electrical design is a plus
• Familiarity with lighting and fire alarm systems is a plus
