Job Description

Manage and supervise closed circuit video graphic surveillance of company operations in accordance with and pursuant to all applicable Missouri laws and regulations and such internal controls and departmental policies and procedures of Ameristar Casino Saint Charles. Lead the Surveillance department team members to achieve business objectives while protecting company assets as well as maintaining alignment with company values.

• Must maintain the strictest confidence of all confidential information disclosed.
• Ensure fulfillment of and compliance with all responsibilities of the Surveillance Department under all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to Missouri Admin. Code Sections
• Management and supervision of all Surveillance Department personnel, including staffing, hiring, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, terminations, and departmental morale in accordance with and subject to ACSC human resources policies and procedures in effect from time to time. As and when appropriate, other ACSC personnel shall be involved in this function, such as members of the Human Resources Department, the General Manager, and the Assistant General Manager.
• Provide adequate training and/or resources to all Surveillance Department, etc., including but not limited to proper surveillance procedures, techniques for detecting cheating, theft, embezzlement and/or fraud against the Company by team members and patrons, techniques for detecting cheating, theft, embezzlement and/or fraud by team members against patrons, knowledge and understanding of table games and slot operations, knowledge and understanding of gaming laws and regulations, federal currency transaction reporting requirements and ACSC internal control standards and departmental policies and procedures to be adhered to by personnel involved in gaming operations (including the gaming floor, cage, hard count and soft count), techniques for detecting fraudulent, unfounded or excessive claims of personal injuries or other tort or workers compensation claims by patrons or team members.
• Ensure that all surveillance equipment is always properly maintained, in good working order, and otherwise in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. (Includes replacement equipment)
• Notification of and coordination with appropriate ACSC management personnel upon the video graphic detection of alleged or suspected cheating, theft, embezzlement, fraud or other illegal activities or alleged or suspected failures by ACSC personnel to comply with applicable gaming laws and regulations or ACSC internal control standards or departmental policies and procedures, including the provision of videotape of suspect activities. To the extent required by applicable law and regulations, make reports with respect thereto to the Missouri Gaming Commission (“MGC”) and/or other appropriate governmental authorities and cooperate with any investigations conducted by any such governmental authorities.  Notification of and/or coordination with ACSC management personnel shall be restricted or limited only upon and only to the extent of any express instructions of appropriate MGC or other authorized governmental officials.
• Oversee and review video graphic surveillance footage prepared by the Surveillance Department.
• Cooperate with the Security Department, the Human Resources Department and Risk Manager to reduce exposure of ACSC to claims by patrons and team members related to personal injuries, property damage and other tort or tort-like claims by (i) obtaining and maintaining video graphic surveillance of such incidents or their aftermath when detected by Surveillance Department or upon notification by other personnel and (ii) notifying appropriate personnel upon the video graphic detection of any suspected unsafe condition on the ACSC premises.
• Ensure that all required logs and other records are timely made and maintained by the Surveillance Department.
• Maintain confidentiality of Surveillance Department business and avoid exposure of ACSC to defamation or similar claims.
• Ensure that Surveillance Department operations are not used for any improper purpose or in a manner that would reflect negatively on ACSC.
• Job Tasks must be finished in a timely manner according to department standards.
