Technical Business Analyst - Remote

Cognizant is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join its Digital Engineering team. The role translates complex business needs into actionable requirements and technology-enabled solutions while collaborating with stakeholders, engineering, quality assurance, and client teams to deliver enterprise applications.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements
• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, functional specifications, and traceable delivery documentation
• Facilitate discovery sessions and Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Analyze data and operational workflows using tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with Java, Spring Boot, .NET Core, quality assurance, and delivery teams to clarify requirements and support implementation
• Support user acceptance testing, defect resolution, release readiness, training, and stakeholder communications
• Track decisions, risks, dependencies, and action items in Jira while helping teams deliver agreed outcomes and timelines

Requirements:

• · 6+ Professional experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in an enterprise technology environment
• · Demonstrated ability to gather requirements and create user stories, acceptance criteria, process models, and functional documentation
• · Experience with Agile and Scrum delivery practices and requirement-management tools such as Jira
• · Working knowledge of data analysis using Microsoft Excel and SQL, with exposure to Tableau or Power BI
• · Familiarity with enterprise application environments involving Java, Spring Boot, .NET Core, or related technologies
• · Strong analytical, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills
• · Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language and manage multiple priorities
• · Remote work requiring workers located at Meza, AZ or El Dorado Hills, CA, or anywhere else in the United States only

• · Experience supporting healthcare payer or health insurance technology programs
• · Hands-on experience with process-modeling tools and standards such as Microsoft Visio or BPMN
• · Experience with user acceptance testing, business validation, release communications, and end-user training
• · Understanding of software delivery lifecycles, APIs, and modern enterprise application architectures
• · Relevant certifications in business analysis, Agile, Scrum, or data visualization
