Custom Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Custom Software Engineer for a contract role supporting a client in St. Petersburg, Florida. The engineer will design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot scalable enterprise applications using Java, Oracle, Spring Boot, RESTful services, and Agile development practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Oracle, and modern development frameworks
• Build scalable and high-performing software components that align with business and technical requirements
• Develop and support applications utilizing Spring Boot, RESTful services, and Oracle database technologies
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and application solutions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and developers to deliver successful project outcomes
• Troubleshoot complex application issues and implement solutions that improve system reliability, scalability, and performance
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and deployment support

Requirements:

• • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• • 5+ years of experience with:
• • Java Development
• • Oracle Database Development
• • Enterprise Application Development
• • Advanced proficiency in Spring Boot
• • Strong experience with: Java, Oracle, SQL & PL/SQL, REST APIs, Application Development, Software Design & Development
• • Experience working within Agile software development environments
• • Experience with Oracle Applications PL/SQL
• • Strong client communication and stakeholder management skills
• • Knowledge of Digital Banking platforms and financial services applications
• • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise software implementations
• • Familiarity with cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
