Senior EPC Project Manager

Leidos is a technology-focused solutions provider delivering power delivery and engineering services to utilities and construction partners. The Senior EPC Project Manager will lead engineering and utility infrastructure projects, manage project portfolios and teams, oversee financial and contractual performance, support business development, and drive risk mitigation and operational improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead high functioning engineering teams on large scale utility transmission, substation, and other complex projects that operate in an EPC or other progressive model that aligns engineering and construction
• Lead a team of project managers to deliver comprehensive engineering design projects for electric utility clients
• Take ownership of overall portfolio performance, including cost, schedule, and scope management
• Drive strategic initiatives within the PMO organization, focusing on process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Serve as the Capture Manager for large scale new business opportunities and be responsible for the preparation of major proposals, estimates, and bids documents
• Mentor and develop project management staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
• Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to address issues, report progress, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio
• Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support organizational growth
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality control standards
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, project teams, subcontractors, and support personnel
• Identify project risks and mitigation strategies
• Travel locally and nationally as needed (roughly ~20-25%)

Requirements:

• 8+ years of progressive Project Management experience in the electric power/electric utility industry
• Candidates must demonstrate experience with and comprehensive understanding of electric power and electric utility infrastructure projects
• Direct experience working with project financials, bid proposals and cost estimates
• Direct Experience with portfolio management, contract management and risk mitigation
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, P6) and MS Office Suite
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on portfolio management and team development
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to travel periodically as required (~20%)
• Candidates must be located in the United States in order to be considered. This position cannot be performed outside of the US
• US Citizenship required
• Knowledge of high voltage substation and transmission engineering hihgly preferred
• Experience working with EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) Contracts will be highly preferred
• PMP Certification or willingness to obtain within two years
• Previous experience working in a consulting environment for US based electric utilities
• Prior experience in a leadership position
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams
• Previous experience working in a consulting environment
• Experience with PowerBI and/or visualization tools
