Senior Data Engineer

Camunda is an enterprise platform for agentic orchestration that helps organizations coordinate AI agents, people, and systems across complex business processes. The Senior Data Engineer will build and evolve AI-native data infrastructure, including data pipelines, warehouse transformations, ML pipelines, CI/CD processes, monitoring, and architectural improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Work with different producers to build the pipelines that bring data from source systems into the warehouse
• Manage parts of the warehouse and orchestrate the transformation layer
• Build and productionize ML models; the feature and training pipelines, serving/inference and monitoring behind them
• Lead architectural enhancements to the data infrastructure to optimize data warehouse performance for efficiency and scalability
• Independently ship large-scale data products
• Enhance CI/CD processes with a focus on data quality testing
• Drive continuous improvement in product quality, security, and performance

Requirements:

• Ability and/or willingness to use Camunda's product
• 5+ years of Data Engineering or ML experience
• Strong data modeling skills and several years of experience with dbt
• Ownership mindset: we're a small team and proud of our accomplishments
• Experience in deploying, operating, and evolving data pipelines in the cloud (batching and streaming)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as code tools such as Tarraform
• Strong communication skills, enjoys sharing knowledge and learning collaboratively
• Passion for clean code, adept at writing automated tests to maintain codebase quality and product excellence
