Position: Clinical Sleep Scorer

Location: Remote Work

Type of Employment: 12+ Months Contract

Role Description:

Schedule: Day shift, Monday-Saturday, 40 hrs/week

Summary: Score overnight PSG and HSAT recordings for respiratory events, sleep staging, and acoustic event labeling per AASM rules. Working within an AI-assisted scoring pipeline (EnsoSleep pre-scoring + human validation).

Responsibilities

• Score respiratory events: apneas (obstructive, central, mixed), hypopneas at BOTH 3% and 4% desaturation thresholds, RERAs
• Score sleep stages per AASM current rules (W, N1, N2, N3, R) in 30-second epochs
• Label acoustic events (snoring episodes, grinding sounds) per study-specific protocol
• Calculate and report AHI at both 3% and 4% thresholds per study
• Review and validate AI pre-scored events (EnsoSleep); confirm, reject, or modify each event
• Participate in inter-rater reliability (IRR) program: 10% of studies double-scored, >=85% epoch concordance required
• Flag incidental findings for PI review (severe OSA AHI>=30, significant arrhythmia, unusual patterns)
• Maintain scoring turnaround: <=48 hours from data delivery to completed score
• Document scoring decisions and deviations

Requirements:

• RPSGT credential or equivalent scoring certification [REQUIRED]
• Minimum 2 years experience scoring PSG and/or HSAT studies
• Demonstrated competency in AASM respiratory event scoring at both 3% and 4% desaturation rules
• Demonstrated competency in AASM sleep staging (current version)
• Experience with Noxturnal scoring software preferred
• Sustained throughput: >=6 studies scored per 8-hour shift (with AI pre-scoring)

Preferred:

• Experience with EnsoSleep (EnsoData) or similar AI-assisted scoring platform
• Experience in a central reading center / core lab setting
• Prior participation in IRR programs with documented concordance metrics
