Intern - Data Engineer AI (Databricks, SQL, Python, Governance)

Cotiviti is seeking a motivated Data Engineering Intern to join its Data Engineering group within the Artificial Intelligence team. The intern will help develop and deploy cloud data pipelines, build analytics proofs of concept, analyze data sources, and support data quality, access control, governance, and data asset documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Build data pipelines in the cloud leveraging Python, Spark and SQL in a Databricks platform
• Help with building data and analytics PoCs in Databricks
• Help with ad-hoc data analysis of various data sources including project management data from jira and other sources
• Help the team with documentation of data quality checks, access controls and data governance protocols
• Conceptual understanding of fundamental machine learning concepts either from your degree or self-learning
• Help the team with putting a process in place for documentation of data assets to make them more discoverable

Requirements:

• Currently in your junior or senior year studying toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Economics, or Engineering
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Interested in collaborating on a large team with other data science practitioners on innovative projects
• Communicating with others to exchange information
• Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area
• Must be able to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
• Pursuing Masters or PhD degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Math
