Job Description:

Senior Business Analyst (BA) to lead functional analysis, client discovery, and requirement engineering for our enterprise-wide Investran to Intacct AI Transformation Platform. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex Private Equity (PE) accounting workflows and cutting-edge GenAI/LLM platform engineering. You will be responsible for defining functional requirements, user stories, target data models, and mapping specifications that convert legacy FIS Investran data structures into Sage Intacct upload templates, financial reporting tables, and automated reconciliation frameworks. The ideal candidate possesses deep Private Equity industry expertise including the end-to-end LP/GP investment lifecycle, fund administration, capital call/distribution calculations, and waterfall modeling combined with modern expertise in using AI tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude) to radically accelerate SDLC delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Private Equity Domain & Process Analysis:

• Lead end-to-end requirement discovery for the private equity fund lifecycle, covering fund formation, LP/GP onboarding, deal execution, capital calls, distributions, and portfolio company tracking.
• Map complex Private Equity accounting structures, including trial balances, capital account statements (PCAP), carried interest, internal rate of return (IRR), TVPI, DPI, and waterfall modeling logic.
• Analyze FIS Investran extract schemas, entity models (Investor, Commitment, Investment, Vendor, Affiliate), and map them into standardized Sage Intacct upload templates at both the Fund level and LP level.
• Define data rules for automated LP allocation logic, offset entries, fund-level and LP-level reconciliations, and variance analysis workflows.
• Collaborate with accounting SMEs to establish a Gen II-specific Fund Administration Ontology for standardizing financial data models across multi-client onboarding pipelines.

AI-Accelerated Business Analysis & Engineering Integration:

• Actively employ enterprise AI tools including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude Code/Desktop to accelerate business discovery, document current-state and future-state process maps, refine complex requirements, and create meeting summaries.
• Leverage LLM-assisted tools to build schema context builders, prompt specifications, and mapping recommendation engines (evaluating confidence scores and reasoning models).
• Author structured Epics, Features, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria in Jira, leveraging AI tools to accelerate user story generation, scenario testing, and test case mapping.
• Partner with AI Architects and Engineering Leads to define system interface contracts, REST API requirements, and data transformation rules using Python/Pandas logic and JSON/SQLite mappings.

Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management:

• Facilitate deep-dive workshops, requirements sign-off sessions, and daily standups with executive stakeholders, Fund Administration Leads, CISO teams, and external consulting partners.
• Translate complex business needs into intuitive UI/UX wireframe requirements for web platforms (React JS / FastAPI context) supporting human-in-the-loop review and approval workflows.
• Drive Business Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and variance sign-offs during onboarding releases.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

Domain Expertise & Functional Experience:

• 10+ years of total experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Solution Architect within Capital Markets, Wealth Management, or Alternative Investments.
• 5+ years of direct experience in Private Equity (PE) Fund Administration and Fund Accounting operating models.
• Deep understanding of the LP/GP Investment Lifecycle, including fund formation, capital calls, distribution processing, deal execution, waterfall modeling, and investor reporting standards.
• Hands-on familiarity with core General Ledger (GL) systems and software, specifically FIS Investran and/or Sage Intacct.

AI Tool Proficiency & Technical Capabilities:

• Heavy leverage of GenAI Productivity Tools: Demonstrated hands-on usage of tools like ChatGPT, MS Copilot, and Claude to generate process documentation, write user stories, execute gap analyses, and formulate business logic.
• Knowledge of Fund Administration Data Models & Ontologies, with experience defining data mapping specifications, line-item data transformations, and data lineage.
• Proficiency in querying and analyzing structured financial data using SQL, Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for data validation and reconciliation.
• Demonstrated capability working within Agile / Scrum frameworks (ADO, Confluence) within dedicated technology POD delivery structures.

Communication & Client-Facing Leadership:

• Exceptional client-facing communication, executive presentation, and workshop facilitation skills.
• Ability to break down complex multi-tier fund structures and technical AI mapping architectures into clear, actionable executive updates.
• Strong collaborative mindset to work seamlessly across cross-functional teams comprising quantitative analysts, accounting SMEs, cloud engineers, and executive steering committees.
