Business Analyst II

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Business Analyst II to transform operational, customer, financial, and risk-related data into actionable insights. The role focuses on performance measurement, executive storytelling, business consultation, dashboard development, reporting automation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze operational, customer, financial, and risk-related performance data to identify trends, drivers, opportunities, and emerging risks
• Develop and maintain KPI frameworks, scorecards, dashboards, and reporting solutions
• Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable recommendations
• Monitor performance trends and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
• Support forecasting, planning, and business performance management activities
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting solutions
• Translate complex analyses into concise, executive-ready narratives and presentations
• Connect performance outcomes to customer, associate, operational, financial, and risk impacts
• Present findings, implications, and recommendations to leaders and stakeholders
• Develop business cases and decision-support materials
• Clearly communicate the "so what" behind performance results
• Partner with business, operations, technology, and support teams to understand priorities and challenges
• Facilitate requirements gathering, discovery sessions, and stakeholder discussions
• Serve as a trusted advisor by providing objective, data-driven recommendations
• Establish strong working relationships across multiple business units and support functions
• Collaborate with partners to define success measures and performance objectives
• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and visualizations
• Utilize Tableau, Power BI, Excel, SQL, and other tools to improve reporting capabilities
• Support reporting automation and process improvement initiatives
• Validate reporting outputs and improve accessibility of business information
• Support special projects and strategic initiatives
• Document processes, methodologies, and best practices
• Contribute to a collaborative, team-first culture
• Participate in ongoing learning and development activities

Requirements:

• This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC
• We are looking for candidates who live within 50 miles of our location: 100 E. Tryon Road, Raleigh, NC 27603
• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years' experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 8 years' experience in Analytics, or Modeling, or Reporting
