Business System Analyst (Healthcare)

Business Systems Analyst Healthcare | Remote

Role Overview:
Looking for a Business Systems Analyst with 3 5 years of experience in business/systems analysis and Agile product delivery, preferably within healthcare payer/health insurance environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, validate, and document business and technical requirements.
• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and technical specifications.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, SMEs, Engineering, Architecture, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Perform impact analysis, dependency analysis, risk assessment, and requirements traceability.
• Map business data to backend sources and perform SQL queries, data validation, and source-to-target mapping.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, development, testing, defect triage, UAT, and release activities.
• Create process flows, conceptual data diagrams, and other Agile/technical documentation.
• Review vendor designs and deliverables.
• Ensure requirements comply with HIPAA, CMS, BCBSA, and organizational policies.

Required Skills:

• 3 5 years of Business Analysis / Systems Analysis / Product Delivery experience.
• Strong SQL skills for querying, data mapping, and validation.
• Experience with Agile, SDLC, user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement, and UAT.
• Requirements engineering and traceability experience.
• Understanding of APIs, batch integrations, and web/client-server applications.
• Business process modeling/diagramming, preferably Visio.
• Strong documentation, communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

• Healthcare payer / health insurance experience.
• Facets or other healthcare payer adjudication systems.
• Cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or Salesforce.
• CCBA, CBAP, or PMI-PBA certification / BABOK knowledge.
• Healthcare compliance knowledge including HIPAA, CMS, SOC 1/SOC 2.
