Lead Software Engineer - React & Go

The company is building a digital home for the global Muslim community, beginning with private communication and expanding into payments, commerce, and media. The Lead Software Engineer will work hands-on across a React Native application and Go backend, improving a real-time messaging product and preparing it for international scale. The role involves taking ownership of technical direction and addressing reliability, synchronization, encryption, and production-scale communication challenges.

Responsibilities:

• We're looking for a senior engineer to join our existing team and help take us to global scale
• It's hands-on: you'll work across the React Native app and the Go backend, improving the product we already have and getting it ready for serious international growth
• You’d be working on things like real-time messaging, offline sync, message ordering and retries, push notifications, multi-device sessions, encryption, media, and eventually voice and video

Requirements:

• This isn't a greenfield project or a basic React Native app
• need a senior engineer who can help take it to global scale
• The role is heavily hands-on across React Native and Go
• Need someone who has dealt with the hard problems that come with messaging at scale: flaky mobile connections, delivery guarantees, concurrent connections, synchronization, reliability, and debugging production issues
• Especially interested in people who have worked on an actual messenger, communication platform, or other real-time product
