Senior Python/Django Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python/Django Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications, backend services, data-processing solutions, and enterprise integrations supporting a higher-education technology environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Python and Django, along with experience working in higher education, EdTech, e-learning, LMS, student platforms, or similar education technology environments.

Candidates must also have successfully completed at least two full system or application migrations and be able to clearly demonstrate their role and contributions throughout the migration lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Python applications and backend services.
• Develop scalable web applications and APIs using Python/Django.
• Build data-processing solutions using Python, Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.
• Work with large and complex datasets and enterprise data environments.
• Develop integrations between enterprise applications, platforms, and data systems.
• Work with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and other SQL-based databases.
• Develop and support cloud-based applications using AWS.
• Work with AWS services including S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, SQS, SNS, and Redshift.
• Containerize applications using Docker.
• Work with Git, Linux, and CI/CD processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data professionals, architects, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Required Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python.
• Strong hands-on experience with Django.
• Recent experience working in EdTech, higher education, e-learning, LMS, student platforms, or learning technology.
• Experience developing enterprise applications and backend services.
• Strong SQL experience.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience with Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.
• Strong experience with AWS.
• Experience with Docker, Git, Linux, and CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Critical Requirement – Migration Experience

Candidates must have completed at least two full migrations.

The resume should clearly demonstrate:

• The system or application that was migrated.
• The source and target platforms/technologies.
• The candidate's specific role and responsibilities.
• Experience with development, data migration, integrations, testing, and deployment as applicable.
• Confirmation that the migration was successfully taken through production.

Simply listing "migration experience" without project details will not be considered sufficient.

Required Education / Platform Experience

Recent education-platform experience is mandatory.
