Data Engineering Intern

Greystar is a global real estate platform offering property management, investment management, development, and construction services in rental housing. The Data Engineering Intern will build and operationalize data pipelines, improve data quality, and support enterprise data and analytics initiatives while collaborating with data scientists, architects, and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data pipelines using Python, PySpark, SQL and other tools
• Use coding agents to speed up the delivery of data pipelines
• Create enterprise-level code and repeatable processes
• Operationalize data pipelines and enhance data quality across both systems and analytics solutions
• Collaborate with data scientists and data architects on multiple projects
• Partner with internal teams to support initiatives and improve performance
• Generate relevant documentation ready for business use

Requirements:

• Quantitative background and analytical problem-solving ability
• Strong working knowledge of Python, PySpark, SQL, GitHub and other tools including Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong, precise written and verbal communication skills with ability to articulate complex topics
• High standard of accuracy, attention to detail, and speed under time-sensitive deadlines
• Enrolled in a graduate degree program in Data Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field of study
• Graduating between December 2027 and May 2028
• Helpful but not required: Experience with Azure DevOps, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Cursor, Claude and GitHub Copilot
