Role Overview

We are seeking an on-site Mid-Level Voice AI Developer with 5 to 8 years of experience to join our team in North Dallas. In this role, you will own the technical execution of our voice automation stack, focusing on building high-performing inbound/outbound sales/scheduling and customer service agents. Deep hands-on production experience with Retell AI is a strict requirement. You will design and implement the logic, state machines, and API integrations that allow our voice agents to resolve client issues, handle real-time calendars, and drive outbound growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Retell AI Agent Architecture: Build, test, and deploy production-grade inbound and outbound voice agents using the Retell AI platform, SDKs, and custom LLM WebSockets.
• Sales & Scheduling Integration: Connect voice agents directly to scheduling APIs (e.g., Cal.com, Calendly, custom CRMs and apps) to allow agents to pull availability, book appointments, and process cancellations live on a phone call.
• Low-Latency Loop Optimization: Fine-tune Retell setups to achieve ultra-low latency, minimizing dead air and handling human interruptions naturally during fluid sales and support conversations.
• Data & CRM Synchronization: Ensure call outcomes, reservation data, and customer notes are instantly and accurately synced with our internal databases and CRM via webhooks and REST APIs.
• Prompt & State Engineering: Write, test, and refine structured LLM prompts to enforce business compliance, overcome customer objections in sales flows, and handle edge cases gracefully.
• Analytics & Quality Monitoring: Analyze Retell call logs and audio records to track key performance indicators (KPIs) like call resolution, booking conversion rates, and latency drops.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 4 to 5 years of software engineering experience, with a heavy track record of creating and implementing interactive, production-level voice agents.
• Platform Core: Proven, hands-on production experience building with Retell AI. You must be comfortable overriding default configurations and handling custom backend triggers.
• Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in Lambda, Python, experience with AWS services, experience with Databases, specializing in asynchronous programming for real-time streaming data.
• APIs & Telephony: Extensive experience working with RESTful APIs, webhooks, and telephony platforms like Twilio (handling numbers, outbound triggers, and call routing) and Vonage.
• Location: Must be able to work full-time on-site at our office in North Dallas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Local to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex with an understanding of regional telephony routing.
• Experience building guardrails to handle sensitive customer service data securely.
