Sales Development Representative

BoxHouse/ReadyPod provides factory-built, foldable homes for workforce housing developers, disaster relief agencies, and hospitality operators. The Sales Development Representative serves as the first point of contact for prospects, conducts multi-channel outbound and inbound lead engagement, qualifies opportunities, books meetings, and maintains CRM and pipeline integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Research each account prior to first contact, including the nature of the project, applicable vertical (disaster relief, workforce housing, government/NGO/military, RV park & private), and whether the prospect is engaging directly or through a prime contractor/general contractor
• Build a substantive pre-call profile beyond a name and number, identifying the likely decision-maker, project stage, and probable deal obstacles
• Apply that preparation to open with specificity, a generic first line signals a generic effort
• Execute coordinated outreach across calls, email, LinkedIn, and video so prospects are engaged through more than one channel
• Maintain a high daily volume of outbound calls; while not the only channel, it is the fastest and is a required activity
• Use LinkedIn as an active outreach tool, including contextual connection requests, direct messages, engagement with prospect activity, and monitoring of job changes and company announcements for timing signals
• Write concise, personalized emails to supplement the sequences provided by marketing; generic, automated-sounding messages are typically deleted unread
• Use video messages, voicemail drops, and other formats to re-engage accounts that have gone quiet
• Respond to inbound leads within minutes of assignment. First-touch speed is the primary driver of conversion, and this standard is non-negotiable
• Follow up persistently and on a defined schedule across channels; most meetings result from the fifth or sixth touch
• Systematically reactivate closed-lost and dormant accounts on a defined cadence. Buyer timelines shift, and a disqualified lead one quarter may be qualified the next
• Own post-event and webinar follow-up within a defined window to capture engagement while it remains active
• Conduct discovery calls to establish project scope, unit count, timeline, decision-making authority, and current obstacles
• Administer the Prospecting → Lead qualifying gate, distinguishing verified intent (vertical, channel, timeline, and scale all provided) from incomplete inquiries such as a name-and-email brochure download, incomplete records are not advanced to Sales as qualified Leads
• Capture the information required to move a deal forward, including the actual decision-maker and budget holder, land ownership or control, and sufficient financial information to flag credit risk early, closing the gaps that otherwise surface as surprises later in the deal cycle
• Nurture prospects who are not yet sales-ready until they reach qualification
• Book qualified meetings for account executives, provide relevant context in advance, and confirm prospect attendance
• Maintain complete Salesforce records: activity, notes, next steps, and disposition, to ensure accurate pipeline reporting
• Own and help refine the Prospecting → Lead qualifying criteria as the definition of a qualified deal is validated over time; this is a developing standard, not a fixed script
• Work directly with Sales Ops/Deal Desk and IT/CRM on how leads and qualifying data flow into the system, not solely on manual data entry
• Track performance by channel, segment, and message, and present findings in pipeline reviews
• Provide direct feedback to marketing on lead quality, messaging effectiveness, and recurring objections
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of scripts and sequences based on insights from live conversations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• Confidence engaging unfamiliar contacts by phone, with the consistency to sustain performance through slower periods
• Strong written communication; correspondence reads as personal and specific rather than templated
• Multi-channel instincts, with an ability to think in sequences and touch patterns rather than one-off calls
• Sharp listening skills, with the ability to distinguish a substantive objection from a brush-off
• Highly organized, with disciplined follow-up tracking to prevent leads from going cold
• Genuine curiosity about the buyer's world, prioritizing an understanding of how a project gets funded over memorizing a pitch
• Coachable, actively seeking and applying feedback on calls and messaging
• Comfortable operating without a fully-built process, this role contributes directly to formalizing that process rather than simply executing an established playbook
• Working CRM proficiency
• Familiarity with sales engagement tools (Salesloft, Outreach, Apollo, or similar)
• 0–2 years of experience in sales, customer-facing, or high-volume outreach roles
