Salesforce Business Analyst

Newberry Group is a government services and solutions firm supporting public sector clients. The Salesforce Business Analyst will analyze, document, and validate business and system requirements for Salesforce implementations and enhancements supporting the USDA Rural Development mission area, while assisting with configuration, testing, stakeholder coordination, Agile processes, and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and analysis
• Support development of user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications
• Maintain requirements traceability and documentation repositories
• Assist in translating business needs into Salesforce configurations under guidance
• Support Salesforce implementations (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud) and document configurations, workflows, and business rules
• Participate in meetings with stakeholders and technical teams; capture notes, action items, and follow-ups
• Support communication and coordination between stakeholders and delivery teams
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and assist with backlog management and task tracking
• Ensure requirements are clearly documented and ready for development
• Assist in creating test cases and scenarios and support system and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Document defects and support tracking through resolution
• Develop and maintain process flows, requirement documents, user guides, and other documentation
• Support preparation of reports, presentations, and status updates
• Ensure documentation complies with organizational and federal standards
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation efforts
• Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• The applicant must be a U.S. citizen
• able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience per GSA guidelines)
• 3+ years of experience in business analysis, IT support, or a related field
• Understanding of business analysis principles and software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of business analysis techniques and documentation practices
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Basic understanding of Salesforce platform concepts and navigation
• Proficiency with requirements tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage time effectively and work in a dynamic environment
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Salesforce Administrator certification or currently pursuing certification
• Familiarity with process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart)
• Experience supporting federal programs or contracts
• Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or distributed team environments
