Senior Mechanical Engineering Designer

Core States Group is an architecture, engineering, and construction firm delivering design and engineering services for national multisite programs and projects. The Senior Mechanical Engineering Designer will design and draft mechanical engineering projects, including HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and producing construction documents that meet client and code requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with design tasks and reports under the direction of Project Engineers and Project Managers
• Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations as well as generate reports/recommendations based on findings
• Assist in maintaining task budgets
• Coordinate and assist with addenda, RFI's and change orders
• Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project
• Assist senior staff with the project approval process
• Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 3+ years of experience with general building mechanical design production
• Revit, MS Office required
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes, support better decisions, and increase efficiency
• Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work product
• preferably with commercial projects such as retail, restaurants, grocery, financial, and/or convenience stores
• EIT preferred
