Technical Project Manager

Alpha Financial Markets Consulting is a global consultancy serving the financial services industry. The Technical Project Manager will support complex insurance engagements by analyzing business challenges, leading project workstreams, developing client deliverables, and managing stakeholder relationships. The role focuses on delivering technical and operational improvements across the Property & Casualty insurance domain.

Responsibilities:

• Understand complex insurance issues and their potential impact on the clients' business
• Engage with stakeholders to drive & lead execution against effective project plans, anticipate potential issues, and provide structured solutions to ensure a successful client engagement
• Lead a workstream or component of a project, taking responsibility for the creation of client deliverables by facilitating client interviews and workshops, performing analyses, synthesizing clear insights from complex information, and developing content that clearly articulates recommendations
• Develop meaningful and successful relationships with clients and vendors by understanding the different needs of stakeholders and establishing a high degree of credibility
• Support Alpha FMC's broader business evolution, including co-authoring whitepapers and performing market research to identify opportunities
• Contribute to the wider Alpha community by making innovative and proactive contributions to one or more business management or practice areas
• Maintain a broad understanding of the challenges facing the Insurance Industry and knowledge of relevant issues and trends within one or more of Alpha's practice areas

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Management, Business Analytics, Economics, Engineering, or related disciplines
• At least 4 years of proven consulting experience at a recognized consulting firm or through an 'in-house' consulting / business analyst role at a leading financial institution
• Experience within financial services
• Excellent consulting and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with recognized project and consulting frameworks and business process mapping
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to articulate complex problems and solutions in a simple, logical, and impactful manner; executive presentation skills
• Proven track record of building and sustaining lasting relationships with team members
• Appetite to support clients across our practice areas
• Intellectual capacity and ability to think in new, innovative ways to understand complex issues and develop creative solutions
• Ability to comfortably multi-task and engage in multiple initiatives concurrently
• preferably within the insurance industry
• Flexibility to travel up to 50%
• Direct experience working within Property & Casualty insurance operations, underwriting, claims, distribution, or related functions at an insurance carrier, MGA, broker, or consulting firm
• Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and deliver complex programs or technical initiatives with cross-functional teams, including resource allocation, timeline management, and risk mitigation
• Experience with insurance core systems, policy administration platforms, claims management systems, data warehousing, or related technologies that support P&C operations
• Track record of identifying inefficiencies, designing solutions, and implementing improvements in insurance operations or workflows using lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
• Ability to extract, analyze, and translate insurance data (claims, premium, policy, operational metrics) into actionable business insights and executive-level dashboards
• Experience navigating complex organizational structures and managing relationships with underwriters, claims teams, IT, compliance, and senior insurance leadership
• Familiarity with insurance regulations, compliance requirements (state insurance codes, NAIC guidelines), and how they impact business operations and technology implementations
• Experience coordinating with insurance technology vendors, implementing vendor solutions, or managing outsourced P&C functions
