Product Manager, Ecosystem

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, and its Ecosystem team enables third-party developers and technology partners to extend Stripe products. The Product Manager, Ecosystem will own the strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for Stripe’s third-party app ecosystem and Marketplace, improving merchant discovery and adoption while helping developers and partners build successful products. The role also establishes marketplace standards, ecosystem metrics, distribution strategies, and cross-functional operating foundations.

Responsibilities:

• Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for Stripe’s third-party app ecosystem and Marketplace
• Define the highest-value merchant needs and ecosystem gaps by product, segment, industry, and geography; determine when Stripe should build, partner, or enable third parties to address them
• Improve the merchant funnel from discovery and evaluation through installation, activation, usage, and retention
• Expand distribution beyond the Marketplace by surfacing relevant apps across Stripe’s product workflows, onboarding, Dashboard, support, and other high-intent experiences
• Improve discovery through search, taxonomy, recommendations, personalization, and merchandising
• Establish marketplace standards for app quality, reliability, security, permissions, support, and data-use transparency so businesses can adopt third-party solutions confidently
• Create the incentives, analytics, growth tools, and monetization capabilities that help developers build sustainable businesses and continue investing in Stripe
• Define and monitor ecosystem health, including app coverage and quality, merchant conversion and retention, partner success, and incremental value to Stripe
• Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Design, Data Science, Partnerships, Developer Relations, Marketing, Sales, Support, Risk, and Legal
• Represent Stripe’s ecosystem strategy with developers, technology partners, and users, using their feedback and quantitative evidence to guide product decisions
• Align senior stakeholders around priorities and trade-offs, and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly

Requirements:

• 10+ years of product-management, engineering, product-focused founder, or equivalent experience, including ownership of a complex product area at scale
• Experience setting strategy and driving execution for a platform, marketplace, ecosystem, developer product, or other multi-sided business
• Demonstrated success improving acquisition, discovery, conversion, activation, or retention
• Strong judgment across user-facing products, technical platforms, partner economics, and marketplace trade-offs
• Experience leading ambiguous initiatives across multiple product, engineering, and business teams
• Technical fluency with APIs, integrations, developer tooling, and platform products
• Demonstrated ability to define metrics and use qualitative and quantitative evidence to prioritize investments
• Experience working directly with external developers, technology partners, or enterprise users
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including influencing senior stakeholders and leading across organizational boundaries
• Experience building or scaling an app marketplace, developer ecosystem, or two-sided platform
• Experience with marketplace search, recommendations, ranking, personalization, or contextual distribution
• Experience designing partner monetization, incentives, or revenue-sharing models
• Experience with enterprise SaaS workflows such as CRM, ERP, ecommerce, support, reporting, or quote-to-cash
• Experience in payments, financial technology, or another regulated technology environment
• Experience taking a platform or marketplace from 0→1 and scaling its adoption and operating model
