Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Tekmetric provides cloud-based software that helps auto repair shops manage operations, payments, customer engagement, and growth. The Senior Software Engineer (Backend) will participate in the full development lifecycle, build scalable and performant solutions using Java, Spring, and MySQL, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and agile engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable services and applications that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
• Provide implementation estimates and evaluations of different solutions
• Collaborate with and across agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
• Manage the end-to-end life cycle on the development of new features
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and growth to junior team members as we scale

Requirements:

• Our ideal candidate has experience in Java, Spring, and MySQL
• You have 5+ years software engineering experience
• You have experience with Java and SQL databases (2+ years)
• You enjoy working in fast moving and dynamic environments
• You have high standards and a strong work ethic
• You have strong product sense and communication skills
• You have experience working cross-functionally and can work within ambiguity
• You enjoy bringing innovation and impact to customers
• We are only hiring remote engineers located in Eastern, Central, and Mountain Time Zones within the US
• We are hiring contractors located in the EU
• Experience with Javascript and React is a plus
