Project Manager Consultant

Automatreex LLC helps organizations improve operational clarity through PMO implementation, process optimization, workflow automation, and systems implementation. The Project Manager Consultant will support a construction program review by assessing workflows, governance, organizational structures, data flows, and process improvement opportunities, while preparing recommendations and presentations for client leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Support delivery of a program review across a decentralized organization, including structured stakeholder interviews and working sessions with leadership and staff at multiple locations
• Map current-state project workflows from planning through closeout; identify inefficiencies, duplication, and manual effort; help design improved, streamlined processes
• Assess how construction projects are delivered and governed, and help develop practical criteria for choosing the right project approach
• Review how project data flows between field operations and financial/administrative systems, where information is re-entered by hand, where reporting breaks down, and where integration gaps exist
• Review organizational structure, roles, and staffing models supporting the construction program
• Draft findings, recommendations, and presentation materials for client leadership; support issue resolution and escalation as it arises

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in construction project management, owner's representation, or program management consulting, with at least 3 projects in the last 5 years in which you served as Project Manager or lead consultant
• Working knowledge of multiple construction delivery methods and the judgment to know when each is appropriate
• Demonstrated process mapping and process improvement experience on real projects, not just theory
• Hands-on experience with construction/project management software platforms (e.g., Procore, e-Builder, Kahua, Smartsheet, or comparable) and comfort reviewing data flow and reporting integrity across systems
• Experience engaging structured stakeholder groups across decentralized or multi-entity organizations (multiple campuses, districts, divisions, or agencies) and building consensus
• A record of resolving client or owner conflicts on projects — we will ask for specific examples with outcomes
• Project experience for public-sector clients, state agencies, or higher education institutions within the last 5 years
• Experience with public procurement rules and processes for professional services and construction
• Familiarity with facilities and construction standards programs in large institutions
• PMP, DBIA, Lean/Six Sigma, or comparable certification
• Review or audit experience: operational reviews, claims analysis, schedule/cost forensics, or workflow investigations
