Product Manager - Industrial Solutions

Picarro is hiring a Product Manager for its Industrial Solutions team to define and deliver products for environmental compliance and occupational safety monitoring. The role owns product features across discovery, roadmap planning, prototyping, launch, and iteration, working with cross-functional teams and supporting commercial enablement.

Responsibilities:

• Set priorities and shape the Industrial Solutions roadmap, balancing near-term customer needs and compliance deadlines with longer-term platform investments. Own features end-to-end, from concept to launch to continuous improvement, and be accountable for the results
• Translate customer insights and market needs into crisp, actionable requirements: MRDs, PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Build low- and high-fidelity prototypes to test ideas early, gather feedback, and de-risk development before engineering investment scales up
• Conduct structured customer interviews, synthesize field data, and maintain a current view of EPA rulemaking, OSHA requirements, and emerging monitoring technologies. Use what you learn to make confident prioritization decisions, even with incomplete information
• Serve as the product owner in Agile sprint cycles (planning, backlog grooming, story review, and retrospectives). Partner closely with R&D, engineering, data science, QA, and field teams. Make the tradeoff calls, remove blockers, and keep delivery on track and on spec
• Own product positioning, sales enablement materials, and competitive intelligence for your features. Partner with marketing and sales on launch planning and support pre-sales technical discussions with key accounts
• Define success metrics before you build. Track performance post-launch, report results to leadership, and drive a continuous loop of feedback, data, and iteration

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• 3–5 years of product management or equivalent experience with direct product ownership responsibilities
• Demonstrated ability to write sharp requirements and prototype ideas
• AI-forward mindset with hands-on experience applying AI tools, LLMs, or automation to real product problems
• Experience working within Agile/scrum development as a product owner
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Figma, or similar product and design tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to technical and non-technical audiences alike, and able to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
• Proven track record of building and shipping products or features independently, including personal projects, open-source contributions, or internal tools that went beyond your core job responsibilities
• Familiarity with EPA continuous fenceline monitoring requirements (such as the HON Rule) or comparable environmental/occupational safety regulatory frameworks
• Background in environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or industrial operations, or knowledge of methane leak detection, emissions monitoring, air quality, or precision gas measurement
• Experience with cloud-based SaaS or data analytics products for industrial or environmental applications
• Proficiency with product analytics tools (Pendo, Amplitude, PostHog, or similar)
• Prior experience in a startup or high-growth technology environment
