HR Business Partner

Canadian Solar SSES (Canada) Inc. is hiring an HR Business Partner, North America, for its e-Storage business. The role partners with business leaders on HR strategy while delivering day-to-day HR processes, employee relations support, Workday data and reporting, and recruitment and retention initiatives across North America.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with senior leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives
• Support organizational design, workforce planning, and talent strategy
• Coach leaders on performance management, engagement, and team effectiveness
• Drive change management initiatives in a high-growth environment
• Execute core HR processes including onboarding, performance cycles, and offboarding
• Support compensation and promotion processes
• Maintain strong operational discipline across HR activities
• Lead and support employee relations concerns, ensuring consistent and legal practices combined with appropriate documentation
• Coach managers and leaders on effective people management and workplace practices to mitigate issues
• Proactively identify ER and legal risks and proactively involve HR leadership
• Leverage Workday for HR transactions, reporting, and analytics
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity within HR systems
• Use insights to inform decision-making and improve business outcomes
• Partner with Recruitment to support hiring needs
• Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives
• Champion company culture and values across the e-Storage business

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of Canadian and US employment practices and legislation
• Ability to initiate, lead and navigate tough conversations maintaining professional composure
• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Strong working knowledge of Workday (transactions, reporting, data management)
• Organizational skills are a must
• Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels
• Someone who is comfortable “in the weeds” while keeping a strategic lens
• A proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes in a scaling organization
• High attention to detail with strong execution capability
• HR certification (SPHR or SHRM – CP or equivalent) highly desired
• Experience supporting technical, industrial, or energy-related businesses is a plus
