Senior Product Designer - Click UI

ClickHouse is hiring a Senior Product Designer to own Click UI, its open-source design system, and carry system-level design decisions through to end users. The role partners with product managers, engineers, contributors, and stakeholders to improve components, adoption, product quality, and user experience, while using AI tools to strengthen design and code workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Own the design system in Figma and the design decisions that determine how components look and feel across the ClickHouse ecosystem
• Work directly with contributors and consumers of Click UI to improve the system and drive adoption of new and existing components
• Communicate designs through wireframes, prototypes, and visual mockups, iterating quickly on feedback
• Partner closely with a product team, including product managers and engineers, as a trusted, embedded collaborator rather than a separate creative function
• Use AI tools to accelerate your workflow, automate repetitive tasks, and improve both code and design quality
• Contribute to design feedback sessions with internal and external stakeholders to validate assumptions
• Advocate for product quality and user experience, even when you have to create the guardrails yourself

Requirements:

• Strong visual design fundamentals and experience building and maintaining a design system
• Proven experience designing for complex software applications, ideally in B2B SaaS or developer tools
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, prototyping, and design systems
• Frontend engineering skills: you write CSS, React, and TypeScript, and you're comfortable in a real codebase
• Experience owning products end to end, working directly with developers and product managers
• Enthusiasm for AI tools and an active practice of using them in design, engineering, workflows, or all of the above
• Energy for the startup pace, including the ambiguity and shifting priorities that come with scaling a company with as much potential as ClickHouse
• Experience owning multi-brand design systems or the same design system across multiple tech stacks
• experience designing IDEs, data products, or other technical developer tooling
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design or engineering workflows (Cursor, Copilot, Figma MCP, v0, etc.), open source contributions or an active GitHub presence, and experience in a fast-moving, globally distributed startup
