Software Engineer II

Microsoft is hiring a Software Engineer II for its Azure Arc team. The role involves designing, building, validating, shipping, and operating scalable services across on-premises, multicloud, and edge environments, spanning server and Kubernetes agents as well as distributed cloud services.

Responsibilities:

• Contributes to the design of large-scale distributed software services and solutions
• Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for scenarios, develops design documents and drives projects
• Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance, maintainability and reliability of our services and components
• Participates in Livesite operations with emphasis on timely response, delivery & customer satisfaction
• Builds automation to identify, prevent and remediate service issues
• Proactively seeks new knowledge and adapts to latest trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, scalability, observability, and performance of the product
• Shares knowledge with colleagues via code and design reviews

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Go, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
• 2+ years of hands-on software design and programming experience in Go, Java, C++, C#, or object-oriented programming
• 2+ years of experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and shipping scalable cloud services
• 2+ years of experience with containers and Kubernetes
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Go, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Go, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
