Software Engineer, Backend (Python)

Rackloom.in is building a GPU computing marketplace that connects AI developers, startups, and businesses with GPU infrastructure providers. The Backend Software Engineer will build and maintain Python backend systems, including APIs, database systems, GPU provisioning workflows, usage tracking, billing, payments, and platform integrations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Python
• Build scalable REST APIs and integrate third-party services
• Develop workflows for GPU discovery, listings, rentals, provisioning, and usage tracking
• Implement billing, pricing, and payment-related backend functionality
• Design efficient database schemas and optimize queries and application performance
• Write clean, maintainable, well tested, and documented code
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability, security, and scalability
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions
• Collaborate with product and engineering teammates to deliver features from design through deployment

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in Python and backend software development
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data modeling
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing, debugging, and software engineering best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Effective written communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and CI/CD
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms
• Exposure to distributed systems or scalable backend architectures
• Experience with payment integrations, billing systems, or marketplace platforms
• Interest in AI infrastructure, GPU computing, or machine learning systems
