Software Engineer (Agents & Operational Systems)

Self Fund Health is hiring a Software Engineer (Agents & Operational Systems) to build and improve LLM-powered agents and the tools, integrations, and data sources that automate health plan operations. The role also involves improving agent reliability and security and collaborating with technology, clinical, operations, and sales teams.

Responsibilities:

• Build production-grade agents and multi-agent workflows on modern agent development frameworks (Google Cloud / Google Agent Developer Kit)
• Take ownership of creating and improving APIs, data pipelines, search tools, and database connectors that feed context and execution power into our agent fleet
• Translate complex health plan concepts—plan designs, network tiers, copay structures, claims data, and clinical encounter feeds—ensuring agents operate within realistic bounds
• Review and iterate on production activity of agents, build evaluation and measurement into the development process, and participate in architecting our technology for reliability and security
• Partner closely with fellow technologists, clinical teams, operations, and sales to automate and improve upon loose operational pain points
