Junior Software Engineer - Mobile

Pulsara develops healthcare communication and care-coordination technology. The Junior Software Engineer – Mobile will develop and improve native Android and iOS applications, troubleshoot issues, collaborate with product and engineering teammates, and build reliable, intuitive mobile experiences for healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Develop features, maintain functionality, and write clean, reliable code for our native Android and iOS applications
• Use tools such as Android Studio and Xcode. Submit pull requests, participate in code reviews, and apply feedback to strengthen your skills and your code
• Use AI tools to support coding, debugging, testing, and problem-solving. Learn to evaluate AI-generated code and apply sound engineering judgment
• Investigate bugs, identify causes, and work with teammates to develop and verify solutions
• Work with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Test Engineers to clarify requirements, share ideas, and deliver quality software
• Build with usability in mind, considering platform-specific design, customer workflows, and how mobile applications connect to APIs and other services
• Explore new technologies, ask thoughtful questions, and improve your skills while recognizing that healthcare professionals depend on the software you build

Requirements:

• Hands-on Android and/or iOS development experience through professional work, coursework, or personal projects
• Familiarity with Kotlin, Java, Swift, or comparable programming languages
• Understanding of basic software development principles and writing clean, maintainable code
• Familiarity with Android Studio, Xcode, Git, or similar development tools
• Interest in developing native applications for both Android and iOS
• Experience using AI-assisted tools in software development
• Basic debugging, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Appreciation for intuitive design, software quality, and customer experience
• Curiosity, attention to detail, clear communication, and a willingness to learn and collaborate

• Must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer without sponsorship, now or in the future
• A mobile application or software project you've built and can share
• Familiarity with Google's Material Design or Apple's Human Interface Guidelines
• Exposure to APIs, databases, backend services, web applications, or full-stack development
• Experience with Agile development, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, or DevOps
• A degree or coursework in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
