Sr Business Process Analyst, National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT)

Advocate Health’s National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT) is hiring a Senior Business Process Analyst to translate strategic objectives into operational processes, requirements, and solution specifications. The role analyzes current workflows, designs future-state processes, and partners with cross-functional teams to support implementation, validation, adoption, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze current-state workflows, operational processes, and pain points across NCCT and research functions
• Facilitate process discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews
• Develop future-state process models that optimize operations through technology, automation, data, and AI
• Document business processes using industry-standard methodologies and tools
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, quality, and user experience
• Ensure process designs align with organizational objectives and product strategy
• Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, non-functional, and operational requirements
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements for delivery teams
• Develop user stories, business rules, process flows, use cases, and acceptance criteria
• Establish Definition of Done and success criteria for delivered capabilities
• Manage requirements throughout the solution lifecycle and support prioritization efforts
• Create detailed workflow diagrams, decision trees, and operating models
• Define business rules, exception handling, and process dependencies
• Partner with Product Managers and technical teams to design technology-enabled solutions including proprietary and SaaS configured products
• Validate that proposed solutions meet documented business needs
• Support solution reviews and design discussions through a business process lens
• Define business data requirements and process-related data flows
• Document source-to-target mappings and integration requirements
• Partner with informatics, engineering, and platform teams to ensure data accuracy and usability
• Analyze impacts of data changes across systems and workflows
• Support development of reporting, measurement, and process performance frameworks
• Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering and delivery teams throughout implementation including vendors, as required
• Clarify requirements, business rules, and process intent during solution development
• Support user acceptance testing planning and execution
• Validate delivered solutions against requirements and acceptance criteria
• Ensure successful transition from design to operational adoption
• Maintain complete traceability between business objectives, requirements, process designs, and implemented solutions
• Establish standards and best practices for process documentation and requirements management
• Monitor operational outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Support change management, training materials, and rollout documentation
• Promote a culture of process excellence, standardization, and continuous optimization

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, operational transformation, or related disciplines
• Proven experience analyzing and redesigning complex business processes and workflows
• Experience gathering and documenting functional and operational requirements
• Strong knowledge of process modeling methodologies, workflow documentation, and business analysis techniques
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional business and technical teams
• Experience supporting agile, iterative, or hybrid delivery methodologies
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategic objectives into detailed requirements and executable work
• Excellent written communication skills with experience developing executive-ready documentation
• Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving environment
• Master's degree in finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred
• Experience within healthcare, clinical research, life sciences, or regulated industries
• Experience supporting digital transformation and operational excellence initiatives
• Experience creating process architecture, value stream maps, and workflow designs
• Experience working in highly matrixed organizations
• Experience supporting AI-enabled workflow transformation initiatives
• Knowledge of healthcare data, integrations or interoperability
• Familiarity with data mapping, API integrations, and system implementation projects
• Lean, Six Sigma, or related process/business analysis certifications
