Product Designer

Care Access is hiring a Product Designer to create end-to-end digital experiences for participants, members, and internal teams supporting health screenings, clinical research, and related services. The role owns assigned design work from problem definition through delivery, partnering with product, engineering, research, and operational teams to design, validate, and improve accessible product experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Design and iterate on user flows, wireframes, low- and high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and final interface specifications, primarily using Figma or comparable tools
• Exploring multiple concepts
• Documenting edge cases and interaction states
• Incorporating stakeholder critique and user feedback
• Providing developers with clear behaviors, content, and visual details for implementation
• Apply and contribute to the living design system
• Selecting appropriate patterns to maintain consistency
• Documenting new reusable components and interaction guidance
• Identifying gaps or potential improvements
• Develop an understanding of and act as a subject matter expert on assigned product areas, user needs, operational workflows, and business goals, then translate findings into design opportunities and clear problem statements
• Reviewing requirements and available data
• Mapping current-state journeys to identify friction points
• Asking clarifying questions to understand the user and business outcomes the design should support
• Support product discovery and design validation through user interviews, usability sessions, stakeholder conversations, and review of user feedback
• Helping prepare research questions and prototypes
• Observing or facilitating sessions
• Capturing themes, sharing findings, and translating insights into prioritized design changes
• Monitor and improve the quality and effectiveness of released product experiences
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and operational teams to review user feedback, product data, support trends, and implementation quality
• Identify usability, accessibility, or workflow issues; recommend prioritized improvements
• Verify that delivered experiences align with the approved design and intended user outcomes
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product or UX/UI design work, including the problem addressed, design process, decisions, collaboration, and resulting outcome
• Proficiency creating user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, and interactive prototypes in Figma or comparable product-design tools
• Experience designing responsive, multi-step workflows for participant-facing products, internal tools, or other complex digital experiences
• Ability to apply, document, and contribute to a design system while maintaining consistency with established UI patterns
• Working knowledge of accessibility principles and the ability to incorporate accessible interaction and visual-design practices into everyday work
• Ability to participate in user interviews and usability testing, synthesize feedback, and convert insights into actionable design improvements
• Ability to communicate design rationale clearly, present work remotely, and give and receive specific, constructive feedback
• Ability to collaborate effectively with design, product, engineering, research, and business or operational stakeholders in a remote environment
• Ability to work independently, surface risks or questions early, manage competing priorities, and adapt when product assignments or business needs change
• Comfort working close to implementation, including discussing interaction behavior and technical constraints with engineers
• Curiosity about using AI-enabled tools to accelerate exploration, prototyping, documentation, or iteration while applying sound design judgment
• Empathy, respect, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• GED (to comply with Care Access minimum requirement)
• 2+ years of product design, UX design, or UI design experience contributing to digital products as part of a cross-functional team, with demonstrated experience taking assigned work from discovery and concept development through detailed design and implementation support
• familiarity with HTML, CSS, or prototyping with code is helpful
• Experience in healthcare, clinical trials, or another regulated, trust-sensitive space
• Hands-on front-end experience (HTML/CSS/JS)
• Familiarity with GitHub and a version-controlled workflow
• Native / mobile design experience
• Experience working in a start-up and enjoyed it
• Experience working with AI tools like ChatGPT and/or Claude
