Project Manager - Rail

LJA is hiring a Project Manager - Rail to lead railroad flagging operations across multiple rail networks and regions. The role oversees contract performance, safety and regulatory compliance, workforce development, client relationships, and strategic growth.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee day-to-day railroad flagging operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and professional project execution
• Manage contract performance, including scope, scheduling, staffing, deliverables, billing support, and client satisfaction
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with railroad owners, customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Establish and enforce operational standards, safety programs, and best practices across all flagging activities
• Conduct field audits, operational reviews, investigations, safety assessments, and compliance evaluations
• Lead accident and incident investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and regulatory reporting
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop flagging personnel while overseeing qualification and certification programs
• Support strategic expansion into new rail markets and regions, identifying opportunities for sustainable business growth
• Serve as a Master Flagger and technical resource for railroad operating rules, safety requirements, and customer expectations
• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, risk reduction, and operational excellence

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 10+ Years of Class I Railroad services
• 8+ Years of freight railroad flagging experience
• Strong communication skills
• Strong relationship builder
• Construction experience a plus
