Perception Engineering Intern

Cavalla builds autonomous forklifts for warehouse automation. The Perception Engineering Intern will develop and evaluate perception systems that turn robot sensor data into reliable information about objects and their movement, and deploy those systems on real robots.

Responsibilities:

• Build vision pipelines that fuse camera and depth data into a reliable 3D picture of the scene
• Develop methods to recover the full 3D position and orientation of objects the forklift needs to engage with, accurately enough to act on
• Find and follow objects and people across frames while the robot and everything around it is moving
• Collect, label, and curate data from our robots in real warehouses
• Get models and algorithms running in real time on onboard compute
• Build evaluation tools and metrics so we know what's working and what isn't
• Use agentic and AI tools to prototype fast and iterate faster
