Business Analyst (BI Data experience)

The hiring company is confidential. It seeks a Business Analyst to lead the delivery of business intelligence reporting and analytics solutions, from requirements gathering through deployment and adoption. The role supports data-driven decision-making through dashboards, KPIs, stakeholder collaboration, and user acceptance testing.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze data pertaining to the SBU, including national and local market size, customer behavior, competitive advantages, and overall SBU business performance
• Execute regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, scorecards, and presentations to support business leaders and key stakeholders
• Build detailed presentations including data analysis reports, visualizations, charts, graphs, industry evaluations, and performance metrics using Power BI and other reporting tools
• Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering workshops with business stakeholders to develop comprehensive Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
• Develop a deep understanding of the business processes supported by reports and dashboards and ensure reporting solutions align with business objectives
• Create, document, maintain, and continuously enhance BRDs, functional specifications, process flows, user stories, business rules, KPI definitions, and reporting requirements
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, Enterprise Applications teams, Data Engineers, and BI Developers throughout the reporting lifecycle
• Own the end-to-end delivery of reporting and analytics solutions from business intake through deployment and adoption
• Create initial report and dashboard mockups, wireframes, and visual representations to facilitate stakeholder alignment and solution design
• Conduct pre-development knowledge transfer sessions with developers and technical teams to ensure a clear understanding of reporting objectives, business rules, and expected outcomes
• Support the development and execution of implementation strategies for new reporting solutions, dashboard modernization initiatives, and report conversions
• Identify, document, and validate Data Integrity (DI) and Data Quality (DQ) rules during requirements gathering, solution design, and report development activities
• Identify source systems, data dependencies, and end-to-end data flows required to support reporting and analytics solutions
• Assess upstream and downstream impacts of business process changes, source system modifications, and enterprise application enhancements
• Review reporting workfiles and dashboards before User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate user experience, dataset completeness, business logic, calculations, and reporting accuracy
• Conduct detailed reviews with development teams to ensure all BRD requirements have been satisfied prior to Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing
• Develop UAT strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and detailed UAT scripts in collaboration with business stakeholders during the BRD creation process
• Coordinate and facilitate User Acceptance Testing activities, manage testing results, track defects, and obtain business sign-off before deployment
• Identify key performance indicators (KPIs), business metrics, and measurement methodologies that improve visibility, accountability, and operational decision-making
• Promote and champion adoption of new reports, dashboards, KPIs, and analytics capabilities across the organization
• Conduct research and data mining to identify emerging market opportunities, reporting enhancements, and business intelligence solutions that drive business value
• Stay informed on upcoming Enterprise Application capabilities, platform enhancements, and emerging analytics technologies and recommend opportunities for adoption
• Proactively analyze existing reports and dashboards to identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, automation, consolidation, and continuous improvement
• Identify reporting synergies across current and future initiatives and recommend solutions that maximize business value while reducing duplication
• Analyze customer, market, and company data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and strategic business insights
• Provide executive-level updates regarding key initiatives, project status, reporting outcomes, business impacts, and organizational performance metrics
• Serve as a catalyst for continuous improvement by promoting process optimization, data-driven decision making, reporting governance, and best practices
• Employ cross-functional collaboration with Business Intelligence teams, Data Engineering teams, Enterprise Applications teams, Data Governance teams, and business stakeholders across the organization

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Business Analysis, Data Analytics, Reporting, or related disciplines
• 3+ years of experience gathering and documenting business requirements, creating BRDs, and supporting reporting or analytics initiatives
• 3+ years of experience creating executive-level dashboards, reports, analytics, and business presentations
• 3+ years of experience establishing KPIs, defining business metrics, and developing performance measurement frameworks
• 3+ years of experience leading User Acceptance Testing activities, business validation efforts, and stakeholder sign-off processes
• 3+ years of experience implementing process improvements, change management initiatives, and solution adoption strategies
• 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise reporting environments within large, complex organizations utilizing multiple ERP systems and source applications
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and enterprise reporting tools
• Advanced experience creating executive-level dashboards, scorecards, reports, visualizations, and analytical solutions
• Strong business process mapping, process improvement, stakeholder facilitation, and requirements management skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deliverables within a fast-paced environment
• Working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data modeling concepts, and data warehousing principles preferred
• Experience identifying and validating Data Quality (DQ) and Data Integrity (DI) requirements preferred
• Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance across large and complex datasets preferred
• Experience in supply chain, distribution, logistics, sales operations, finance, or related business functions strongly preferred
