Marketing Consultant - Advertising & Digital Sales | O'Rourke Media Group

O’Rourke Media Group is hiring a Marketing Consultant to build and manage local business relationships across its Dane County market. The role develops advertising solutions and digital campaigns that help businesses reach audiences through the company’s print and digital channels, while growing the company’s digital presence and participating in community events.

Responsibilities:

• It’s running your own book of business, built on relationships with the local businesses that make Oregon, Verona and Stoughton what they are, and there’s also plenty of room to grow our digital footprint across Dane County
• You’ll sit down with owners, learn what keeps them up at night, and put together real advertising solutions to help them grow, connecting them with a loyal local audience that turns to us every day through our website, email newsletters, social media channels and print editions
• And when a business needs more, you’ll have the backing of our full-service, internal digital agency to build campaigns that reach customers wherever they are, including new data and AI-powered solutions
• You’ll be out in the community at chamber events, ribbon cuttings, festivals, farmers markets and everything in between, because the best relationships don’t start in an inbox

Requirements:

• If you set big goals and then go chase them down, measure yourself by results, and get a real charge out of turning a “maybe” into a signed agreement
• Competitive by nature, you set goals, track your numbers and love beating your own best
• A self-starter who likes owning the outcome, and the upside that comes with it
• Curious about how businesses work and genuinely interested in helping them succeed
• Comfortable starting conversations with people you've never met
• Resilient, you hear “not right now” and treat it as the start of the conversation, not the end
• Sales or marketing experience is great
