Middleware Engineer, Data Operations & Support

Role Overview

• Provide 2nd & 3rd level support
• Participate in entire project lifecycles (architecture, implementation, support, improvements) for both locally developed software and COTS solutions
• Work closely with Developers, Analysts and other IT teams to deploy and support Data Services’ applications and COTS middleware
• Monitor systems and troubleshoot performance issues
• Define and enforce policies related to the platform you implement and support

Requirements

• Proficiency in English
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced skills with Apache/Tomcat/NGINX or similar.
• Experience with complete hosting solutions setup & support (CI/CD, web servers, reverse proxies, monitors, security, etc.)
• Advanced troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills (+ proactive attitude)
• Comfortable with relational database management system concepts
• Open-minded and quick learning aptitude
• Good grasp of network concepts (common debugging tools and protocols)
• Good grasp of main web technologies and frameworks (Java, Rails, Spring, Angular, etc.)
• Scripting skills (bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
