The Director of Sponsorship Sales will plan and execute sales strategy for sponsorship revenue across the NVTC events portfolio.
This role will work closely with the Senior Director of Programs and Events to develop sponsorship strategies that will connect the value proposition of NVTC’s events to prospective and current members.
This role will also identify new sponsor opportunities to grow revenue for the council.
Must be energetic, well spoken, and eager to close revenue opportunities.
Identify, direct, and coordinate all revenue-generating sponsorship opportunities with hands-on engagement throughout the business development life cycle.
Develop and implement the sponsorship sales strategy.
Lead all acquisition efforts, including target list development, outbound sales, seamless onboarding of new sponsors to each individual event and post-event follow-up.
Leverage all communication channels to build relationships with prospective members utilizing personal calls, in person/Zoom meetings, email, social media, and networking.
Communicate sponsorship value proposition.
Cultivate and strengthen relationships with all key stakeholders including board members, new and renewing sponsors, and business partners to build relationships that drive increased sponsorship, revenue, and renewal rates.
Organize an active pipeline that allows for accountability and real-time reporting through a CRM system (i.e., Salesforce).
Implement a coordinated retention touchpoint calendar and automated email campaigns for active sponsors to demonstrate the sponsorship value and to drive increased renewal rates.
Collaborate with marketing team to create and activate marketing, content, and social media that highlights the value of NVTC sponsorships and generate leads.
Leverage digital marketing solution tools such as Higher Logic and Informz.
Requirements
Must possess at least 5 years of related experience including 2 years of business development and sales with a demonstrated track record of hitting sales targets and exceeding objectives.
Experience working with Director, VP-level and C-suite executives, both internally and externally.
Experience and knowledge of revenue growth and development of not-for-profit organizations.
Previous experience in association management, consumer technology, or related field desired.
Bachelor's Degree required with a preference given to Marketing, Communications, or related fields.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple issues and tasks, and the ability to work on complex and diverse projects with defined deadlines.
Able to quickly build rapport and strong collaboration with a variety of personalities and the ability to work in a cross matrix environment.
