Advise business teams regarding compliance with privacy, AI, and related laws.
Work collaboratively with Privacy Office peers on projects.
Advise on data protection terms in agreements.
Provide guidance on product strategy considering data protection laws.
Advise sales and marketing teams on compliance implications of various initiatives.
Work closely with Information Security, Data Governance, Risk, and Audit teams to mitigate data protection compliance risks.
Assess product features and designs to identify potential legal issues.
Develop robust playbooks and self-service tools for product teams.
Develop privacy notices, terms of use, and customer contract templates.
Perform privacy impact and responsible AI assessments.
Requirements
J.D. degree or equivalent degree (such as a master in law) with strong academic performance
3+ years experience practicing law
Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
Familiarity with major data privacy frameworks such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)
Experience partnering with product and engineering teams to identify and facilitate the satisfaction of legal requirements.
Sufficient exposure to intellectual property matters to act as an effective issue spotter.
Experience drafting contract templates and negotiation playbooks for software or payment technology products.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
