Supervises operator activities associated with MPC and in-cell crane activities 221S, 511S, 512s and canister movements.
Maintains sufficient supplies to support facility operations
Plans and coordinates work involving production and support groups
Reviews and approves all lockout / tagout plans for hazardous energy control and canyon tagouts which affect the facility
Ensures facility activities are within applicable licenses and permits and conducted in accordance with plant procedures and Technical Standards/Operating Requirements
Has authority to shut down the facility or direct any necessary actions to ensure safety
Approves the start of maintenance, operations, construction, test, and surveillance activities
Ensures operators are trained and qualified for their activities
Communicates with other support organizations to ensure activities are completed as scheduled
Performs initial investigations of abnormal events
Directs emergency operations and trains personnel in emergency activities
Performs periodic tours of the facility
Identifies housekeeping and material condition deficiencies
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED, Associates degree in a related technical discipline, BA/BS in a non-technical discipline, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline and experience in a relevant engineering, operations, and/or maintenance function
3+ years Nuclear experience
Deviations to education and/or experience requirements must follow DOE Order 426.2 protocols.
