Develop design calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA) techniques
Develop construction drawings
Develop construction specifications for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design
Perform work in the Oak Ridge, TN office with some travel
Requirements
Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
Having ability to obtain DOE Q clearance
B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school
8+ years of post-education experience
A PE is required with ability to obtain a new state license as required
Perform design and full documentation of structural systems as assigned
Interface directly with client counterpart, both virtually and on-site, to develop best solution for assigned projects
Integrate with other design disciplines and project functions such as Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture, Civil, Document Control, Project Controls, etc.
Ability to estimate, schedule, and track assigned project for schedule and cost performance
Knowledge of DOE, NRC, and nuclear standards including DOE-1020, NRC Regulatory framework, etc.
Expert design knowledge of steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design
Expert implementing multiple years of national code including IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7
Ability to follow and implement established quality procedures and ensure that all work accomplished is procedurally compliant
Experience working within an NQA-1 quality program
Expert in use of finite element software such as STAAD.pro (or equivalent)
Expert using Microsoft Office software including Teams, Outlook, Project, Word, Excel, etc.
Ability to learn new software as necessary for project success.
Expert in use of MathCAD (or equivalent)
Reside within a commutable distance from our Oak Ridge, TN office
