Lead the team and drive the operations of peta2 online, through correspondence, and programs in classrooms and across the country
Oversee and lead a team of correspondents and writers who handle all e-mail, mobile, and social engagement with young people as well as content for peta2.com, marketing and e-mail promotions
Oversee the peta2 mobile program, effectively reaching young people with our peta2 campaigns and messaging via text
Brainstorm and coordinate the schedule for content on peta2.com, promotions via e-mail, and mobile
Oversee and manage our peta2 Rewards Program—making sure we have new, trendy merch available for young people, compelling missions that make a difference, and are growing the program
Hold quarterly check-in meetings to assess progress on peta2 online goals
Help to create merchandise for sale and for giveaways through the peta2 rewards
Participate in the creation and review of offline materials like sticker sheets and leaflets to reach the peta2 audience
Brainstorm and execute to completion major peta2 campaigns like Your Sign to Save Animals, Wear Your Own Skin, and more to educate, engage and inspire students 13-24 to lead the animal rights movement
Organize and lead various brainstorming meetings for peta2 staff
Work one-on-one with students as needed on campaigns and projects
Oversee local outreach efforts to schools in cities where staff members reside
Lead efforts to boost morale, build on teamwork, and motivate staff throughout peta2
Travel to perform duties
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Minimum of five years managing a team
Minimum of seven years of experience directing activist endeavors
Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
Demonstrated extensive knowledge of youth culture
Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, and lead large events
Demonstrated effective leadership or supervisory skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people
Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent judgments and decisions
Ability to manage projects and see them through to completion
Willingness and ability to travel
Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to advocate PETA's positions on issues professionally
