Forensic Nurse Examiner, Designated Indigenous – Assault Cases

Role Overview

• Delivery of nursing care to a patient population affected by violence
• Medical forensic exams and administration of prescribed treatments
• Leadership within the healthcare team
• Facilitation of coordination of patient care and follow-up

Requirements

• Two years current related experience in relevant areas (Emergency, Mental Health, ICU, Women’s Health, STI Reproductive Health Counseling, or Specialty Counseling) required
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing required
• BScMH, BScPN or BN preferred
• Authorized Prescriber designation preferred
• Certification/Licensure/Registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
• CPR training requirements in accordance with Employer policy
• Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice
