Prepare I&C design deliverables including instrument indexes, loop diagrams, wiring and termination drawings, control panel layouts, and system architecture diagrams
Extract and analyze information from P&IDs and process documents to support design activities
Specify and select field instruments and control devices based on process and design requirements
Develop control philosophies, cause & effect matrices, and system narratives
Support site visits, commissioning, and start-up activities
Create material specifications, data sheets, and support technical bid evaluations
Review vendor documentation for compliance with project requirements
Ensure adherence to applicable industry codes and standards (CEC, ISA, CSA, etc.)
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including project managers and other engineers
Maintain compliance with Lauren’s health, safety, and quality management procedures
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering from an accredited institution
2–5 years of experience in engineering design, preferably in oil & gas or EPCM environments
Enrolled or eligible for enrollment as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) through EGBC
Solid understanding of control panels, DCS/PLC systems, loop drawings, and field instrumentation
Experience with control system architecture and industrial instrumentation
Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and other applicable standards
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Project management experience is considered an asset but not required.
