Serve as an active member of a service oriented, dynamic, and student centered team
Coordinate assigned processes in the financial aid area
Assist the Associate Director with the daily operations in financial aid
Provide financial counseling for both current and prospective students, as well as their parents, in all areas of educational financing
Responsible for analysis of financial aid applications by performing reviews utilizing both federal and institutional needs analysis
Make professional decisions based on established policy (federal, state and institutional)
Participate in outreach efforts and activities that emphasize Wellesley’s commitment to access, affordability, and financial literacy initiatives
Responsible for a financial aid reading caseload
Extensive and timely communication with parents and students, prospective and current, in person, email, and on the telephone
Stay up to date on trends, regulations and policies in Student Financial Services
Attend professional development programs as required
Assist with administration of other office processes, as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's degree is required
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in higher education and/or one of the areas that comprises Student Financial Services (financial aid, student accounts/tuition payment, student employment, educational financing) or related field
Strong preference given to demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals needs analysis (federal and/or institutional)
Experience with a wide variety of software and database applications, such as PowerFAIDS, Workday, Google, and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently, but to also contribute positively to a team approach.
