Receive, categorize, and track federal, state, and local tax notices, including due dates, response requirements, and status updates.
Review notices for entity name, Employer Identification Number (EIN), state account numbers, and filing status inconsistencies to identify discrepancies for correction.
Draft standardized responses, acknowledgment letters, and follow-up correspondence to taxing authorities under supervision.
Assist in identifying penalty and interest assessments and preparing documentation to support abatement or dispute requests.
Help reconcile internal tax records with tax authority transcripts, account statements, and notices to ensure alignment and accuracy for good standing certificates.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Legal) to collect and analyze data needed to resolve notices and correct records.
Provide analytical and administrative support for ad hoc projects and reporting requests across Tax, Accounting and Finance teams as needed.
Requirements
Pursuing an Associate's degree or Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Familiarity with Excel and financial systems (Deltek experience is a plus).
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Ability to work 25-40 hours per week in our Lake Mary, FL office (at least 1-2 days) for 3-6 months.
