Responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more
In the winter months, assist with plowing and salting
Overtime may be required
Use tools and equipment commonly used for maintenance work
Lift materials commonly used in maintenance work
Participate in a random drug and alcohol-testing program prior to operation of vehicles or operating equipment
Requirements
No education or experience required
Applicants must be at least 18 years old
A valid driver's license is required
An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation
Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation
An incumbent must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled
