The Designer supports an assigned group of engineers and technicians by providing technical drafting and design support for infrastructure related designs with limited supervision
Successful candidates will design and develop plans for infrastructure projects by drawing accurate 3D models on a given software platform
Utilize knowledge of design and 3D modeling to provide technical guidance to other technicians
Requirements
Two year technical degree in Technical Drafting or equivalent
7 or more years of infrastructure related experience required
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with 3D software programs such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Bentley, Solidworks, Revit, and Sketch up as well as graphic design programs such as Adobe Photoshop
Ability to learn and successfully apply company, client and projects standards and procedures
Ability to successfully collaborate and communicate with individuals in a team environment
Detailed drafting experience with substation electrical equipment layout, conduit design, grounding design, lighting design, lightning protection design, protection one-line diagrams, schematics and interconnection wiring diagrams using AutoCAD
Thorough understanding of site layout logistics as it can relate to substation equipment layout for efficient drafting and ease of construction
Knowledge of MicroStation is a plus
Proven experience in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
