Overall responsibility for Manufacturing activities across the global business and developing the footprints in China, India, Mexico and the US
Implement manufacturing best practices bringing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance
Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet the business objectives and demands of the Nidec Group
Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process focusing on Base Line Profit (BLP)
Be the owner of the manufacturing policy, guidelines, and any associated documents
Lead, develop, and implement variable cost productivity programs across all areas of responsibility
Formulate and Deploy Strategies to optimize the cost performance of the plant through capital investment programs targeting the adoption of Automation wherever appropriate
Develop and manage master production schedule and execute maintenance activity to ensure plant performance meets the OEE targets
Provide input for manufacturing at early stages in the New Product Development (NPD) in collaboration with Research and Development
Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to
Build the Quality system to ensure that manufacturing capabilities and quality levels meet or exceed company requirements and customer needs
Collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure continuous improvement goals and objectives are met and achieve operational excellence
Develop and champion risk mitigation strategies to guarantee continuity of operations and supply
Partner with Finance on budget and ongoing cost control and proposed facility and operational capital investments in line with business objectives
Create, develop, and deploy an organizational construct to drive process consistency and accountability
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering or above as required
Electric motor or electronics major is a plus
MBA is preferred
15+ years of progressive Manufacturing experience, at least 5 years in a leadership role
P&L management experience strongly preferred
Strong business acumen and a proven track record of achieving financial and operational results
Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, coaching, and the ability to motivate people
Must be a highly results-oriented and customer-focused individual
Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred
Excellent communication skills
Willingness to travel
Languages English mandatory. Other language skills are helpful.
