Own and evolve the Epic Payer Platform to enable reliable, high‑value clinical and administrative workflows across payer and provider partners
Drive application strategy and technical direction for complex systems that support interoperability, utilization management, eligibility, claims, and care coordination
Lead architecture and application design decisions that ensure scalability, security, and high availability in an AWS‑hosted environment
Guide integration and data‑exchange strategies using modern standards such as FHIR, SMART‑on‑FHIR, APIs, and EDI to improve connectivity and data quality
Translate business and operational needs into well‑designed technical solutions through systems analysis and thoughtful application design
Mentor and support junior engineers and analysts, building strong technical capability and confidence across the team
Operate autonomously while exercising sound judgment in selecting, adapting, and advancing complex development techniques and tools
Monitor technology trends and continuously improve application development practices to deliver better outcomes over time
Requirements
Minimum 7 years of experience in application development
Hands-on experience in Epic applications or AWS-based systems
Proven ability to work at an expert technical level across the full application development lifecycle
Strong knowledge of healthcare payer and provider workflows, including utilization management, eligibility, and claims
Experience performing systems analysis and translating complex requirements into scalable solutions
Demonstrated ability to work independently while providing technical guidance to others
3+ years of experience leading or managing application development teams (preferred)
Experience supporting Epic Payer Platform implementations or similar large-scale healthcare platforms (preferred)
Deep understanding of interoperability standards (FHIR, SMART-on-FHIR, OAuth2, APIs, EDI) (preferred)
Epic certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire) (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred, not required) (preferred)
